Designed for Bertone by Giorgetto Giugiaro early in his long and illustrious career, the GTV was an immediate favorite from its introduction, initially as the Giulia Sprint GT in 1963. The restrained elegance and perfect proportions of these cars have aged beautifully, and the model survived for over a decade with relatively light cosmetic changes and mechanical enhancements as the years progressed.

3022268 was completed in August of 1973 and believed to have been sold new to Texas. A few years later, the GTV was acquired by Robert Boemer through Southwest Motors (Southwest Alfa) of Houston, Texas, who later traded the car in 1987 to James Tyson of Houston for a 1959 Alfa Romeo. Tyson would retain ownership and loving care until 2010, when it changed hands to its most recent caretaker, a local Houstonian and noted Italian car collector. A substantial supporting file of all known history, records and servicing invoices accompany the vehicle.

As displayed in sporting form, much of the of the Alfa's current cosmetic and mechanical configuration was commissioned in 1991-1993, including the wheels, suspension, Corbeau upholstery and engine internals. The car sports a higher compression, autocross focus 2000cc powerplant and auxiliary equipment. The car has received substantial and meticulously documented care over the years, and the current mileage of 92,190 tracks as original. A notable Summer 2019 service addressed a freshening of the cooling and fuel systems, as well as R&R of the entire braking system. A $12,700 investment.

Mechanical Notes:
During our inspection, we found the engine's head gasket to be weeping and due for a replacement, we also recommend tucking up the exhaust system as it hangs low for the Alfa's current suspension setup. New Michelin tires have just been installed.

We offer this beautifully solid Texas GTV for continued enjoyment, touring or further sporting purpose – with nearly all history known and recorded. Now available for worldwide inspection, purchase, and delivery from our Houston, Texas showroom at a very attractive price point. This one will not last long!
