This 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is one of fewer than 1,300 examples produced worldwide across two model years. The car was sold new by Ferrari Maserati of Long Island in Plainview, New York, and now shows just under 18k miles. It is finished in Rosso Scuderia over a red and black Alcantara interior, and power is provided by a rebuilt 3.6-liter Tipo F131 V8 paired with a six-speed F1 sequential gearbox. Track-oriented factory equipment includes carbon-ceramic brakes, lightweight bumpers, enhanced aerodynamics, specially tuned steering, and a lower and firmer suspension than the standard 360 Modena. Also featured are Rosso Scuderia brake calipers, a painted-on tricolore racing stripe, a Capristo exhaust system, and a fire extinguisher. A $16,500 service in 2017 included replacing the timing belts, clutch, flywheel, air intake assembly, and tires. This 360 Challenge Stradale is now offered by the selling dealer with service records, a tool kit, jack, battery charger, leather cases, clean Carfax and AutoCheck reports, and a clean Texas title.

The Challenge Stradale was introduced in 2003 as a more performance-focused evolution of the 360 Modena, with inspiration from the Challenge race car. Weight-saving measures over the standard 360 include composite bumpers, a Lexan rear window with carbon fiber supports, and carbon fiber mirror housings, while aerodynamic changes include deeper side skirts and a larger rear diffuser.

This example is finished in Rosso Scuderia (323), and the front bumper has reportedly been repainted. A tri-colored stripe is an aftermarket addition that was painted on and clear-coated, consistent with factory style. Closeups of the finish and lenses are provided in the gallery below, including Securit and Isoclima etchings on the windows.

19” Challenge alloy wheels were refinished in the factory color in January 2017, and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires measuring 225/35 up front and 285/35 out back were mounted at that time. Brembo carbon ceramic brakes are shared with the contemporary Enzo model and feature Rosso Scuderia aluminum calipers, with six pistons up front and four pistons out back. The suspension system features lower, stiffer titanium springs and a thicker rear anti-roll bar than the standard 360.

The cabin features reclining seats with carbon fiber shells trimmed in red and black Alcantara and complemented by matching dash upholstery. Weight-saving trim utilized in the Challenge Stradale model includes carbon fiber door panels, a carbon fiber console, rubber floor mats, and reduced sound deadening. A set of black carpeted floor mats with red prancing-horse logos is also included in the sale.

A black and red leather-wrapped steering wheel sits ahead of column-mounted paddle shifters and a carbon fiber instrument surround. Instrumentation includes a central yellow tachometer with an 8,500-rpm redline and a 220-mph speedometer. The digital odometer shows just under 18k miles.

The mid-mounted 3.6-liter V8 features a flat-plane crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication, and dual overhead camshafts with five valves per cylinder. The Challenge Stradale model was rated at 425 horsepower when new, an increase over the standard 360 Modena achieved with lighter, higher-compression pistons, a revised intake manifold, and ported intake and exhaust runners. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed automated-manual transmission. A Capristo exhaust system has been added to this example.

An engine rebuild was carried out at 14k miles in 2011 due to damage caused by a broken valve. Invoices from the rebuild by Ferrari of Tampa Bay in Palm Harbor, Florida total over $45k and can be seen above and in the gallery below. Invoices are also shown from a January 2017 service by Ferrari of San Antonio in Texas which included replacing the timing belts and tensioners, the air intake assembly, clutch, flywheel, and throw-out bearing, as well as changing the oil.

Included in the sale are a tool kit, jack, and battery charger, each housed in leather cases, as well as a Ferrari car cover in a matching bag, an emergency kit, and a set of owner's manuals in a leather pouch.
