The Most Desirable and Highest Powered Urraco Model

The Urraco P300 was introduced at the Turin show in 1974 and was a much-improved replacement for the P250. Displacement had increased to 2997cc by lengthening the stroke to 64.5mm. The transmission, suspension and bodywork received detail changes and the engine's top end was completely revised with new 4-valve heads, having combustion chambers built in, and four camshafts driven by more reliable chains. Carburetors were four Weber 40DCNF and compression rated at 10.0:1. This all increased power output to 250bhp at 7500rpm producing 195 lbft of torque at 3500rpm.

According to specialist records, 20094 was originally finished in Blu Notte over Senape upholstery and delivered new to Ageco in Lebanon. It's said the car belonged to Saudi royalty at some point, and eventually made its was to the States in late 1985 under G. Karioghlian, a Saudi expat who owned a gas station with his brother in New Jersey. The Urraco would remain stationary until its purchase in 1988 by Joe Johnson, who later commissioned an engine rebuild by noted expert Vinny Latino of Auto Elite in April 1990, followed by a red repaint in 1991. A year later, Jim Kaminski acquired the car through Meadowlands Lamborghini, where Joe had it consigned. The Urraco would receive a “better transmission, since the original was notchy” and later make its way to Florida. A written account of Kaminski's known history was recorded on 11/4/2014.

Ultimately, 20094 found residency under new ownership in Ohio. The Urraco was complete but tired, so a restoration was commenced to return the P300 to its former glory. Interiors by Dave freshened the entire cabin in correct form in early 2015 at a $12,000 investment. Followed by a complete disassembly and extensive restoration to all body, mechanical and electrical systems by renowned Lamborghini experts Evans Automotive in Columbus, Ohio. Detailed invoices totaling almost $114,000 document the diagnostics, freshening and renewal to all systems and areas of the vehicle. This included a complete engine and transmission out rebuild - enhanced internally with forged oversized pistons, stainless steel valves with 17-angle valve job, brass guides, polished crank and journals, European spec cam timing, rebuilt carburetors, ignition system, uprated alternator, R&R auxiliary hard and soft lines, ceramic coated headers, full QuickSilver stainless steel exhaust, all new bearings, seals, hoses, hardware, finishes and more. This, coupled with all new syncros for the transmission, resurfaced flywheel, Kevlar high performance clutch, bearing, and seals.. onward towards the axles, joints and shifter components. The entire cooling and braking systems also received this level of treatment to ensure excellent drivability. The paint and interior remain in great condition overall while exhibiting only minor flaws (pictured).

Attention was also given to R&R of the entire fuel system from the tanks to the motor, an assessment of the entire electrical system with the replacement of switches, wiring, lights and motors where needed. The paint was carried out by an outfit in Ohio to while stripping and properly removing corrosion issues with expert metalwork and fabrication to delivery specs, followed by sealing seams and refinished coatings. Finally, the cabin received additional attention to the mechanical mechanisms and controls. Rarely presented at this level, the Urraco certainly makes a statement and performs incredibly well overall.

Bertone body number stampings (544) can be seen on both the front and rear decklids/louvers, original S.Gobain Sekurit glass is present - along with the IN RODAGGIO (Running-In) decal on the front windshield. All lights, electronics and safety equipment are in working order, with exception to the clock and air conditioning. Original Kangol seats belts remain in place, complementing the period attire and details such as 205/70R14 Pirrelli CN36 tires on beautifully refinished 7.5x14 Campagnolo wheels. In addition to the history report, recent restoration and servicing records, the Urraco is accompanied by original P300 Driver's Handbook and Dealer's Brochure.

The Lamborghini Urraco is often considered one of the most striking mid-engined 2+2s ever produced. Just 791 were completed in the 8-year span, with only 205 of those being the ultimate P300 model.
