The DHC was the most luxurious and expensive XK100 series, available for the first time in 1953. Whereas the roadster was a bare bones open car, the drophead coupe featured exterior door handles, retractable glass windows an insulated boot that can lower within seconds and lavish wood throughout the deluxe interior.

817158 is finished in British Racing Green Paintwork over Biscuit upholstery and top, beautiful brightwork throughout, well-paired to color matched steel wheels, sleek spat covers and Coker Classic tires; the unique sporting luxury styling of this Jaguar defines the essence of a classic British roadster. This outstanding example was the recipient of a complete nut-and-bolt restoration by its former British auto aficionado, owner and restorer of 20+ years.

The car's current restoration took place from 1995-2002. An impressive file with all invoices meticulously document the restoration process, and include photo progress from start to finish. Great care was taken to authentically return the Jaguar to correct delivery standards. Regular care and maintenance was performed thereafter with casual use and enjoyment. A large dossier of calculated receipts and photo binders of the entire time period accompany the 140. The restoration has aged gracefully and the car is still worthy of being a local show car or touring/rally candidate. There are some paint imperfections including light chips and stress cracks but overall it remains very presentable. The interior, underside, and engine compartment have been thoroughly detailed and remain in beautiful condition.

The Drophead carries a matching Spare Assembly, tool roll, jack, grease gun, lug wrench, ratchet, proper Thor hammer and boot cover for top-down enjoyment. As a highly sought after XK140 in Jaguar's lineup, this particular car will certainly command attention from any astute sports car enthusiast. Needless to say, this desirable convertible makes an outstanding touring candidate or show contender alike, eligible for a wide variety of events throughout the world.
