Rare & Highly Prized 3.0 Liter, Non-Sunroof 930 Turbo

1977 911 (930) Turbo Carrera Coupe

Chassis No. 9307800070

Engine No. 6870092

Transmission No. 7770110

According to Porsche Cars North America, chassis no. 9307800070 was completed on September 9, 1976, wearing Copper Brown Metallic (Z6 ) paint color over Cork Leather upholstery with Beige Tartan Dress Inserts (82), optioned with US Equipment and Pirelli Tires.

Known History: Sold new on November 2, 1976 through Century Porsche-Audi of Dayton, Ohio. The car's original Warranty & Maintenance booklet records maintenance performed in Columbus, Ohio and St. Louis Missouri up until November 1982. In 1985, it was purchased by its second caretaker who titled the car in Nebraska and is believed to have moved to Madison, Wisconsin shortly after. Little is known in the years following, until 1998, when the 930 was acquired by a Mr. Bradshaw of Milwaukee, WI. It was then described as a numbers-matching and highly original example retaining factory original paint, upholstery and components. Bradshaw garage kept and thoughtfully continued this turbos long history of preservation, while occasionally exercising and servicing the car as needed until he sold it 2016.

A recent March 2016 “Major Service” included a flush and refresh of all fluids with new filters, rebuilt warm up regulator and wastegate, correct new distributor cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires, bonnet and hatch struts, Bosch wiper blades, Porsche supplied halogen headlamps, engine insulation pad and new Pirelli tires. The engine has good and even compression between 120-130 PSI per cylinder.

Today, the car is without a doubt a very well-preserved example of the highly desired 3.0L 911 Turbo. Upon tedious inspections by auto inspectores and by an in house concours judge, it appears the car has lived a pampered life with careful use over the years and retains a vast number of its untouched original components. We strongly believe that the majority of the paint remains original. Paint meter readings support the same.

Interior: We are confident to say the cabin's upholstery is completely original – carpets, seats, dash and trim. An Alpine radio head unit was installed several years ago in replace of the original Blaupunkt Bamberg, which has long since gone missing, while the console cassette decks stacks, retractable microphone and remote tuner bracket remain in place for an easy installation of a sourced unit. The Cork Leather and Tartan draped seats have yet to be unskinned, with undersides displaying 25Aug76 date stamps and small 246 paper tags. The overall condition of the leather, carpeting and soft fabrics show light use, but for their age and 84,355 miles trekked on the vehicle, are in exceptional condition and free of soiling or tears. Typical leather shrinkage is present around the center dash vents.

Exterior: The Turbo's exterior reflects the same level of originality with paint depth readings consistent across the car in low numbers comparable to other known original paint 930s from the era. Its Turbo decals which are vinyl and run along the side of the car were replaced at some point. All etched Sekurit side glass and the Sigla windshield are original, as are the soft rubbers and trim. Usual gravel chips are peppered across the nose and slight lacquer color variations/fading are visible in areas on the driver's rear quarter and fiberglass whale tail. New Pirelli Cinturato tires were just installed to better reflect original built specifications.

Luggage & Engine Compartments: The front luggage compartment retains original perlon carpeting in great condition showing the expected battery corner Swiss cheese holes. Its original 6/76 date coded spare tire appears

unused, with complimenting jack, plastic gloves in package and proper tool kit – a rare occurrence. A Porsche accessory bra is also included. The engine bay appears correct, tidy, complete and unmodified.

Floors/Pans: Impeccably clean and free any corrosion issues, showing factory finishes, cosmoline, rubber plugs and hand painted fender wells. 0781 hand stampings are visible along the edges of each rocker panel. The majority of mechanical components and bushings appear original. The motor and transmission are clean, very dry and hold oil well.

Amenities: Here is an assessment of all mechanical and electrical components; the following items are all working properly.

* All exterior lights – headlights high and low, tails, brakes, backup, fogs, hazard and license

* Interior lights

* Luggage light

* Wipers

* Headlight washers

* Radio

* All instruments, including clock

* Horn

* Cigarette lighter

* All window switches and power windows

* Rear-window defrost

* Heater

* Fan speeds and directions

* A/C blow cool

Complete with its original Owner's Manual, Warranty & Maintenance booklet (in vinyl pouch), Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, jack, spare, tool kit, work gloves and recent records. Overall, we are beyond fascinated with this Turbo's level of preservation and originality as comparable examples rarely surface. This highly prized 3.0 Liter, non-sunroof 930 Turbo is a true Porschephiles dream! We welcome and encourage inspections and can assist with worldwide shipping.
