An Outstanding & Highly Capable Tourer

Ferrari's 330 GTC was a svelte, high-speed Grand Touring coupe for two with a luxurious and remarkably spacious passenger compartment. Pininfarina designed and built the subtly elegant bodywork with styling a masterful combination of the best elements of the 500 Superfast and 275 GTS. The light, airy roof utilized exceptionally thin pillars and offered remarkably good visibility; this feature was unique to the 330 GTC. Outstanding power output was provided by the Colombo-derived Tipo 209 SOHC four-liter V-12 engine delivering 300 factory-rated horsepower with triple Weber twin-choke carburetors. The 330 GTC delivered near-perfect balance and excellent handling characteristics that continue to be renowned by true Ferrari driving enthusiasts today.

Numbered 09547, this 330 GTC is listed in Hilary A. Raab's Ferrari Serial Numbers Part I and accompanied by history compiled by Ferrari marque expert Marcel Massini confirming it was an original left-hand drive, European version factory-equipped with air conditioning and finished in Grigio Scuro Sintetico (Dark Grey) over Rosso (Red) leather. It was car number 179 in terms of assembly sequence, with completion in February of 1967. In March 1967, the 330 was purchased new by local resident, Fausto Crespi of Milan, through official dealer M. Gastone Crepaldi. It is recorded that Luigi Chinetti Motors paid M. G. Crepaldi for repairs to the car (LCM check), it was then exported from Italy to the USA. In the early 1970's 9547 was owned by Mrs. Esther R. Stiles of Miami and was later acquired by another Miami female Ferrari enthusiast, Mrs. Frances M. Farina, an attorney. A copy of the 1980 membership roster with Mrs. Farina next to her beautiful Ferrari is included in the car's dossier. 9547 was eventually passed to Dennis Keck and William Carrey. In March 2018 Marcel Massini checked internal engine block number #2402 with engineer Franco Scaletti of Ferrari Classiche in Maranello, confirming the number is correct and matching.

Since 2010, RPM of Vermont has serviced and refreshed many of the Ferrari's mechanical systems, including the starter, clutch auxiliary components, water pump, brakes (2016: booster, calipers, and hoses, booster), air conditioning system, fuel delivery, ignition and much more. Additionally, in 2018, the 330 received correct new Michelin XWX tires and ANSA exhaust system, as well as scheduled tuning, upkeep and maintenance. The original engine was rebuilt by Dick Debiasse of Dark Horse Inc Ferrari Restorations 6k miles ago and performs exceptionally well with plenty of pep for short jaunts or distance touring. Compression is strong and consistent through all 12 cylinders. A service file of recent records accompany, along with original spare parts catalog and Blaupunkt New Yorker manuals in leather folio.

A particularly honest and solid car, the 330's colors were exchanged to the current livery decades ago and have now matured very gracefully for its age. The exterior's lacquer paint displays spider webbing (most notably across the nose) but overall an attractive patina, while the cabin's upholstery has been thoughtfully preserved with a great presentation. Correct paratrooper seat belts, luggage straps and Blaupunkt radio compliment. All lights, gauges and electronics appear in proper working order. Original glass remains fitted, including the windshield, trim and lenses. Evidence of original paint can be found in several discreet areas, along with Pininfarina body number stampings on the bonnet, rear trunk boot, and trunk floor under the spare. The body displays excellent lines, gaps and panel fitment.

With ideal “drivers” cosmetics paired to extraordinary mechanical prowess, this particular 330 GTC is perfectly suited to enjoy as-is, and highly capable for vintage touring right out of the box, while optionally providing a superb base to take back to its stunning original colors. GTCs are likely the most capable “Enzo Era” V-12 Ferrari Grand Touring models ever produced, we offer this exceptional example, chassis number 9547 for immediate worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston, Texas showroom.
