Several improvements were introduced with the 911 F-series. New for the 2.4's was a small under-bumper "chin" spoiler, aiding high-speed stability, the engine capacity was enlarged to 2341cc by using a longer stroke and with the power and torque increases, the cars also received a stronger 5-speed H transmission producing one of the most desirable 'classical' 911's to date.

This car numbered 9113111630 was completed on April 12, 1973 and sold new on the 30th of June through Conine Swab Porsche-Audi in Tulsa Oklahoma to a Dr. Schmidt residing in Joplin, Missouri. According to Porsche's COA, the Targa was originally delivered from the factory wearing Silver Metallic (80) paint over Black Leatherette (11) upholstery, with U.S. equipment, forged alloy wheels, F/R stabilizer bars, comfort equipment, retractable antenna and tinted glass all around. Still wearing those options today, the car retains its original numbers-matching CIS 2.4L engine and 5-speed transmission with period air conditioning.

The 911's lifelong Missouri residency is tracked through years of excellent servicing records, beginning in 1980 and over lapping the 1973 to late 1982 stamped Warranty Voucher. In years past, the car received a silver repaint, while it appears to have retained the majority of original upholstery and exterior trim. In 2008, the 73.5 was garaged in static storage until just this year. Upon its arrival at our facility, we flushed the fluids and performed a very basic tune up for starting/driving mobility, but a full fuel system and complete brake services are recommend prior to any public road use. Additionally although the center floors remain original and remarkably intact there is corrosion found on the front battery tray area that should be addressed. The Targa benefits from retaining its original Owner's Manual and Warranty Booklet in pouch, tool kit, jack and spare wheel, along with corresponding Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche.

This final-year of the classic 911 provides the ideal candidate for light servicing this summer and will likely provide rewarding ownership to its next caretaker. Offered in a desirably optioned package and complete with its original documentation and accessories this beautiful 911 CIS Targa is now available for worldwide purchase and delivery.
